Sharing Truth, Inspiring Hope, and Encouraging Recovery
At Living My Truth, I share my lived experience through books, honest storytelling, advocacy, and community involvement. My story includes surviving abuse and addiction, taking accountability for the choices that kept me stuck, and learning to rebuild my life one day at a time. My purpose is to remind individuals, families, and communities throughout Chatham-Kent and beyond that they are not alone—and that hope, healing, and a different future are possible.
TURNING LIVED EXPERIENCE INTO HOPE
Living My Truth was built from lived experience, honest storytelling, and a desire to help others feel seen, heard, and less alone. What began with sharing my own truth has grown through my books, recovery advocacy, community involvement, speaking, outreach, and the connections I continue to make with individuals and families. My journey includes abuse, addiction, survival, recovery, accountability, healing, and rebuilding. I share these experiences not because everyone’s journey is the same, but because I believe our stories can remind others that change is possible and that our past does not have to determine where our story ends. Through my 16-book memoir series, I share the difficult chapters alongside what came afterward—the lessons, choices, setbacks, faith, growth, purpose, and consistency that continue to shape my life today. But Living My Truth has become about more than my own story. It is about using lived experience to encourage conversations, support families, strengthen communities, and remind people who may still be struggling or sitting in silence that their voice matters. I cannot rewrite yesterday, but I can choose what I do with it today. I can keep showing up, keep growing, keep serving, and continue turning lived experience into hope. J.R.D. — Just Rise Daily. Because you’re somebody’s somebody.
